KUNDENREZENSIONEN
Doing a documentation about the most important gamilies in wrestling history might seem like a good idea, but on most of the 15 families featured on this dvd they could have easily done a 90 min documentation. Now, all 15 families plus so additional aspects like fake-families and father-son relationships are to be covered in some over two hours, while almoust every family on this line up would deserve much more time.
In addition, WWE does not seem to have much stuff recorded for this dvd package. So it has the flavour of something left over from other productions to make some easy money.
The collection of matches does not include too many big matches, but especcialy the older matches still covers some nice callsic footage you usually would have a hard time to find.
The immediate problem with The Most Powerful Families in Wrestling is that it tries to fit in FIFTEEN wrestling families in a 140 minute documentary. You do the maths...
So if you are looking for in depth histories of the familes in question, you are not going to find them on this DVD. Indeed there are better examples of family histories available elsewhere (The Guerrero's are covered better on the Cheating Death, Stealing Life DVD whilst, to put it into perspective, the Triumph & Tragedy of World Class DVD lasts nearly three hours yet still doesn't tell us all about the Von Erich family).
That said, if you are a casual fan and want to learn a little about a lot, this is an entertaining DVD.
All the sections feature acres of vintage footage and even if there are some questionable choices in amongst the mix it is far to say that even those sections that you might not be interested in never drag.
Where this DVD really seems to win though, is the plethora of matches it contains. In total there are 16. Sadly do not be totally fooled that quantity equals quality.
Whilst there are some choice matches within (particular choice cuts include The Brisco Brothers vs. Ricky Steamboat & Jay Youngblood, The Undertaker vs. Randy Orton and Hector Guerrero, Mondo Guerrero & Chavo Guerrero vs. Mike Enos, Krusher Krugnoff & Tom Burton - which may be a squash, but it's a bloody fantastic one) a lot of the DVD match choices seem to have been made simply to get as many family members into the selection as possible. Whatever the reason, there's no excuse to have things like The Rock's match against The Sultan from WrestleMania 13 on the list.
This is far from an essential DVD, but if you're interested in the families that the disc looks at, this is an entertaining trip down memory lane, especially on the disc one documentary.
Umm Id say okay to watch once, but really boring to watch again!
