There were a couple of thoughts going through my head during this emotional/ educational journey of the once NWA's Eastern Championship Wrestling later know as Extreme Championship Wrestling:
How could a company go "bust" when it still had custom? Still had a great fan base that were selling out shows every week? And without ruining it for those who still wish to purchase this brilliant insight into ECW, what were the 1st signs of the "fall" of ECW. All of my question were answered in this must have DVD.
This is probably one of the best WWE DVDs to date. The documentary portion covers as much as it can in the time allowed and it's good to see that many of the important figures from ECW were brought in to comment (although there are a couple of notable exceptions). This is probably the most in depth documentary portion of any WWE DVD I own.
The matches featured are a good mix and will be a great introduction to viewers that are unfamiliar with old ECW. The matches included are not just the hardcore brawls that you might expect. Sure people will have their personal favourites that aren't featured but there is now a follow up disc ECW - The Most Extreme matches and I would also reccomend Rob van Dam - One of a Kind which has a good selection of ECW matches on it.
